I invented this as part of Module 7, which was to design an item for an interior. I was a bit stuck for ideas to start with and then realised that the answer was all around me, in the architecture of Norfolk villages. Peculiar to West Norfolk is this structure, of large slabs of 'gingerbread' coloured stone interspersed with 'bobbles' in the mortar. I had to design the pattern, write it and then knit it ... I haven't had this piece marked yet, but keeping my fingers crossed that it ticks all the boxes.... This isn't the only part of Module 7 - there are exercises in decorative seams and more artwork, which I'll include in another post.
