The Publishing Training Centre

One of the reasons why things have been so quiet lately is that I've been getting on with my working life.  I've been doing a lot of training this year, which I've enjoyed, but it's meant that I haven't had the time or inclination for much else.  It took me 3 hours and 3 different trains (one a tube - like a tin of sardines!) to get here in Wandsworth from where I live.  I felt like I'd been on an expedition when I eventually got home at 8 in the evening, having set out at 6.30 in the morning!  Met some lovely people on the same course as me though, which was entitled, 'Copyright Essentials'.  A lot of it I knew already but there's always some things to be learned.  Enjoyed the 'all in' lunch too at 'The Alma', at the bottom of East Hill.  A green tiled traditional type pub with an excellent menu of everyday meals and some more exotic - I had a pasta dish.  I should have photographed the place, but I was more intent on getting home safely after the course had finished.  The Centre is also known as 'Book House' and dates from the early 1800's with an ancient graveyard at the rear.  The top floor gave an excellent view over parts of London - with the London Eye and Wembley Stadium clearly visible.  I might have to go back there - at least I know where to go now.
