Happy Holidays GIVEAWAY

Regular readers will know that I love a little trip into London whenever I can, just to try and find something that little bit different - some yarn, some fabric, a few photos of window displays ....

As I'm astonished to be heading up to nearly 15,000  hits and I want to do a Christmas giveaway anyway, then I have this topical pincushion kit that I'd like to send to whoever can tell me about a 'make' that would be just right for giving at Christmas.

I did buy this kit for myself, because I love felt, but I'm so busy at the moment that it's just not going to be completed anytime soon.  I also sent one to Seeks as part of a fabric swap some time ago.

Anyway, all you have to do is send me an answer and be either a blog follower or a new one ... yes, I don't mind if you want to join now!

Look forward to any replies and good luck!  I'll draw a winner at random within the next two weeks, ready in time for Christmas posting - (don't forget to send me a contact if you don't have a blog ...).

My little 1970's jug ...

I found this while out shopping at the weekend, for just over a pound.  It's kinda cute isn't it?  I love the colour palette.  Fits in nicely with my jug collection ...

It's a shirt ... (dress)

It's been so nice to get back to sewing again.  I really want to do some more and am so happy with the outcome of this dress - I've just shared it on Sew Weekly.  Thank you Magpie Mimi!  This is the pattern I won from you!  It made up beautifully and the inside comes out just as well as the outside.  All the seams in the bodice are totally covered over by the pattern pieces.  I can see more versions of this ... I could do contrasting sleeve cuffs and collar for instance, or a different bodice to the skirt ... there are so many possibilities.  Anyway, Judy likes it already!

I had to get some knitting in there too somewhere!

Autumn in East Anglia

Although it's been cold, it's also been bright and sunshiny, so I've been out and about with my camera ...

City & Guilds Module 5

My tutor said I should have used a wider variety of yarns for the cable exercises, which I can now agree with, but I wasn't sure at the time ... she also thought my paste painting was a bit 'scary'!  I think I was supposed to do it on a smaller scale, but I just got carried away!

London in October

Managed to squeeze in another trip a couple of weeks ago before the winter sets in.  This is what caught my eye this time, in Camden Passage.

Some wonderful displays of glass

Love the colours ... I believe all this kind of thing is becoming collectable now - I remember if first time round from the 70's!

Beaded 20's dresses in Annie's window (sorry about the reflections ...)

Think I need to invest in a camera lens to counteract the shadows ...

My favourite 'Loop' knitting shop

What a great quotation to start the day with!
