Purple Patch

I've just come in from one of our rare sunny days here in the UK this year.  I've taken to having my camera with me at all times and I've been photographing doors and windows in Cambridge.  I'll post the pictures next - there are some gorgeous ones - people tend to make use of their window ledges in the terraces here to display little collections of glass and objects.

Anyway, for now, here is the project I completed for the 'vacation' challenge at Sew Weekly because I'm having a little break from prints.  I chose 'purple' because it is supposed to be one of my colours yet I don't own anything in it.  I've several things it could go with ...

The colour is growing on me ...

Someone suggested I should use a name other than 'purple', such as 'amethyst' - I think I will!
