Beaded Scarves - My latest Sew Weekly creation

These are in a velvety velour fabric that changes colour in the light and has a lovely drape to it.  I found lots of colourways in Abakhan, Manchester - blues, browns, greens.  I've edged them all with hand sewn beaded fringing found in my local fabric shop.

Sew Weekly II

Next up for Sew Weekly are a dress inspired by Coco Chanel, a Tunic in a Liberty Art Print (I think it may be Kaffe Fassett fabric), and a 40's/50's inspired apron - again, not the best photos but I'll get better!  My sewing skills are improving and my wardrobe expanding ...  Not too sure that the colours in the tunic suit me but I like the garment - an Amy Butler pattern - and will probably make it again.

Sew Weekly I

Since the beginning of this year, I've been following the themes set by the online challenge, 'The Sew Weekly' which you can find here. My attempts so far include a parka style coat influenced by something already seen in a shop, a blue flowered shirtdress, and a top using fabric I already had stashed away - need to improve the quality of some of my photos but you get the idea ...  It's certainly made me think fast from one week to the next.  Love the idea of it all and wonder if I'll last out the year.
